Can you believe it? We’re already in 2025!
Time really flies, doesn’t it?
It feels like just yesterday we were all stepping into 2024, filled with hope and excitement about the possibilities ahead.
Remember that list you wrote down on December 31st? The one you poured your heart into, believing it marked the start of a transformative year? You might have even shared it with friends or prayed over it, declaring it your year of growth, favor, and gratefulness.
But let me ask—what happened to that list? Did it serve as a guide for your journey, or did it quietly slip under your pillow, tucked away and forgotten, while the busyness of life took over?
If we’re honest with ourselves, so many of us have experienced this. We start with the best intentions, filled with energy and determination, only to find that as days turn into weeks, and weeks into months, those dreams and goals seem to drift further away.
If you’re finding yourself in the same place as last year, it’s time for a change. But let’s be real—change doesn’t happen just because we wish it would. It happens when we commit to doing the hard work.
This brings me to something deeply personal and heavy on my heart: the concept of a “Highly Functioning Traumatist.”
Highly Functioning Traumasist is a term I use to describe people who seem to have it all together on the outside. These individuals are the ones others admire for their success and accomplishments. They hit career milestones, win awards, and appear to have their lives perfectly figured out. But behind this polished exterior, there’s an unseen struggle—an internal battle fueled by unresolved pain, self-doubt, and sheer emotional exhaustion.
I see this so often, particularly in women who feel the weight of the world on their shoulders. We try to be everything to everyone—the breadwinner, the corporate superstar, the perfect mother, the supportive friend, and the one others look up to. But this constant striving often comes at a cost—our mental health, emotional well-being, and even our joy.
Let’s Talk About the Signs
- The Endless Race: You’ve achieved so much, yet you feel empty. There’s always a “what next?”
- Anhedonia: A type of depression where you lose the ability to enjoy life. Work is your focus, but joy? Forgotten.
- Validation Addiction: You constantly seek recognition and approval, because somewhere deep down, you don’t feel “enough.”
As a child, you might have grown up hearing, “Why can’t you be first?” or “The person who topped the class—do they have two heads?” This competitive mindset, while motivating at times, often leaves scars. It’s no wonder many of us equate our worth to our achievements, neglecting every other pillar of our lives.
NO MORE!!!
In 2025, we heal!!!
This year, I want you to prioritize healing and balance. Your career is just one part of the eight pillars that make up a fulfilled life. What about your relationships, health, passions, and spirituality?
I’ve created resources—courses, videos, and guides—to help you break free from the cycle of overfunctioning and start living fully. Remember, life isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being whole.
Let 2025 be the year you finally say, “I’m enough just as I am.”
